You have 31 days from your start date to enroll in certain physical and financial well-being benefits.

You can view the Edward Jones new hire guide for an overview of the benefits provided by the company. The amount of coverage the firm provides—to you—is based on your role at the firm.

When you’re ready to enroll, go to the Online Enrollment System (must be on the Edward Jones network).

Benefits to enroll in within 31 days

You can enroll in the following benefits within 31 days of your start date:
  • Medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • Supplemental Life Insurance for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and children. As a new hire, you can elect up to $700,000 for yourself and up to $25,000 for a spouse/domestic partner without a Statement of Health
Once your 31-day enrollment window ends, you can’t enroll in or change your benefits until the annual Open Enrollment period, unless you have a qualified life event.

The amount that will be deducted from your paycheck depends on the plan you choose and who you cover.

When your coverage begins

  • If you are eligible on your hire date and enroll within the first 31 days of employment, your benefits will be effective on the first of the month following one month of employment.
  • If your start date falls on the first calendar day of the month, benefits are effective one month later.
  • Benefit deductions will begin on the first paycheck of the month, after the benefits effective date.

  • If you work an average of at least 30 hours a week over a 12-month measurement period, you’re eligible to enroll in medical and prescription drug coverage, a Health Savings Account, and flexible spending accounts.
  • If you enroll within 31 days of your eligibility, your benefits will be effective on the first of the month following the date you complete 13 months of employment. Here are a few examples to help you determine when your coverage would begin:
    • Example 1: If you were hired on April 1, 2023, and became eligible for benefits on April 15, 2024, your coverage would begin on June 1, 2024.
    • Example 2: If you were hired on January 1, 2023, and became eligible for benefits on January 1, 2024, your coverage would begin on February 1, 2024.
  • Benefit deductions will begin on the first paycheck of the month, after the benefits effective date.

Benefits you can enroll in anytime

Edward Jones Retirement Plan

You’re automatically enrolled in the 401(k) plan 45 days after your eligibility date, unless you elect otherwise.
  • You can change the amount you contribute and the type of contribution at any time by visiting your Retirement Plan website.
  • If you don’t want to participate in this plan, you must opt out by going to the Retirement Plan website or by calling the Edward Jones Retirement Plan Phone Line at 877-335-4015.
