Life events

If you experience certain life events, you can make changes to your benefits outside of Open Enrollment.

Important: Life events must be requested within 31 days of the event

Click below to request a life event to be created. You will receive an email within 24–48 hours with instructions for making your elections and submitting your life event for processing. You will be required to provide documentation for your life event in approximately six to eight weeks after elections are completed.

Qualified life events

The changes you can make depend on the type of life event. For example, if you have a new baby, you can add the child to your Edward Jones medical plan, but you cannot drop yourself or others from that coverage.

Divorce, separation, and end of partnerships

Birth or adoption

Death of covered dependent

You gain or lose eligibility for other coverage

Spouse, domestic partner, or child gains or loses eligibility
